ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Arkansas Tech senior first baseman
Patrick Castleberry added another piece of award hardware to his collection, picking up an honorable mention selection to the 2015 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America team.
Castleberry hit .380 on the season, leading Arkansas Tech in most offensive categories. His 68 hits, 18 doubles, and 64 RBIs were all team highs, while his 13 home runs were second on the Arkansas Tech squad. The 2015 Great American Conference Player of the Year, Castleberry helped the Wonder Boys win their final nine conference games of the season to finish fourth in the GAC standings.
The native of Jacksonville, Ark. finished the 2015 campaign ranked fourth in the GAC in batting average, first in hits, first in runs scored (52), second in home runs (the Tech trio of
Cole Fergus,Castleberry, and
Bryan Heward finished 1
st, 2
nd, and 3
rd in home runs this season), second in doubles, first in runs batted in, first in total bases (127), ninth in walks (25), second in on-base percentage (.479), and second in slugging percentage (.709).
