The Anderson File

Alma Mater, Year Arkansas Tech, 2004
Years at Arkansas Tech 20th Year
Over the past two decades, Amy Anderson has been an integral member of the Arkansas Tech athletic department. From a multi-sport student-athlete to the most successful women's golf coach at Tech over a 13-year coaching career, to her current role in athletic administration, Anderson bleeds Green and Gold.

Currently, Anderson is the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) as well as the Director of Athletic Compliance and Student-Athlete Success at Tech. Returning to the role of Athletic Compliance this year, a position she held concurrently as the women's golf coach from 2008-2018. Anderson has been Tech's SWA and Director of Student-Athlete Success since 2020-21.

As the women's golf coach, Anderson led the Golden Suns to unprecedented success.

Over the course of a nine-year stretch from 2011-2019, Anderson guided the Golden Suns to six Great American Conference Championships and was named conference coach of the year six times as well. Beginning in 2013, Anderson began a streak of seven-straight years in which the program qualified for the regional tournament. Anderson and the Golden Suns would go on to advance to the National Championship Tournament in five of those seven years as they finished no worse than third at the regional tournament. In 2017, the Golden Suns would win their first-ever regional tournament championship.

Lauded four times as the WGCA Central Region Coach of Year (2020, 2019, 2017 and 2014), Anderson had a golfer be named GAC Women's Golfer of the Year seven times. Peerada Piddon received the honor in 2018 and 2019 while Anna Frandsen did so in 2016 and Rebecka Surtevall achieved the honor in all four years at Tech (2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015).

Anderson also had three of her golfers earn All-America honors with all three doing so multiple times. Piddon was twice named an All-America golfer in 2018 and 2019, following a three-year run of All-America acclaim by Surtevall. In 2019, for the first time in program history, Anderson coached a WGCA Division II Freshman of the Year in Jacqueline Klemm. Klemm would be named Honorable Mention All-America that year, and in the shortened 2020 season, Klemm was a Second Team All-America golfer under Anderson.

Along with coaching golf at Tech, she also spent three seasons coaching basketball for the Golden Suns as she served as a graduate assistant coach in 2005-06 and then spent two years (2006-08) as an assistant coach.

A 2004 graduate of Arkansas Tech, where she spent three seasons playing golf and two playing women's basketball, Anderson and her husband, Adam, live in Russellville with their twin sons Jax and Liam.
